Improving Our Church Campus

December 2019 marks the 50th anniversary of our church facility. During this time, we've made some minor changes: carpets, curtain, chair upholstery, and paint. As we look ahead, we want to improve our church campus to allow us to continue to communicate the Gospel well.

In April 2018, we began a new phase of our Next Building Project.  Here are a few of the things we've been working on:

  • Updating stage lift operation
  • Replacing 50 year old A/C system
  • Bathroom remodeling
  • New cost-efficient LED house lighting
  • Ceiling removal over the pit area
  • New speaker system/sound board
  • New video projection system
  • Purchasing new bus

2020 and 2021 projects include paving, new entry gate, roofing, boiler, office and meeting room reconfiguration.

Plus, we'll be saving for building (in the next 10 years) a larger chapel and meeting rooms.

Here's a Deeper Look at this Project:

Changing the Lift Operation of the Front & Rear Stage Lifts

The two hydraulic lifts were installed in the 1960's.  We need to update these in order to continue to provide a safe workspace.

New Cost-Efficient LED House Lighting

Did you know that it costs us about $1000 each Sunday to light our main auditorium?  By moving to LED house lighting, we will dramatically reduce our energy consumption, which helps our budget as well as the environment.  This new lighting will also improve the visibility of both the main video screen as well as bibles and notebooks in the seats.

Ceiling Removal Over the Pit Area

This will help us with our lighting project and with our acoustic treatment of the auditorium.

New Speaker System & Soundboard

We strive for clarity during our musical worship and theatrical productions.  Our current system is beginning to fail, telling us it's time to make this change.

➤ New Video Projection System

The way church services look and feel evolves slowly over time.  We need to prepare for the next generation of worship services, and video projection will be a piece of these services.

➤ Why are we doing this?

December 2019 marks the 50th anniversary of our church facility.  During this time, we've made some minor changes: carpets, curtain, chair upholstery, and paint.  As we look ahead, we want to improve our church campus to allow us to continue to communicate the Gospel well.

➤ How long will this take?

We plan on the project lasting 12-18 months.  It will probably be finished by Christmas 2019.

➤ Will we cancel any church services or musical outreaches?

Nope! We have worked hard to come up with a plan that allows us to use the auditorium each Sunday and during our regular outreach seasons.  We may have to make adjustments on certain weeks (for example, we might shut down the balcony), but we will continue to meet weekly.

➤ How much will this cost?

After working with our design consultants, the initial estimate was $5-6 million dollars.  This cost was more than we were willing to take on.  God has blessed us, however, with several highly gifted folks on our staff and in our community who are able to help us bring this cost down.  The design we are committed to will cost $1.7 million dollars.

➤ How are we paying for this?

This project is part of our Next Fund.  This fund has allowed us to renovate the Children's Wing of our facility, and build the Connection Center and Cafe4.  Thanks to the faithful generosity of our church, we currently have half of the $1.7 million already set aside for this project.  We are confident that if future giving to the Next Fund continues at the current level, we will be able to completely cover the cost of this project.

➤ How can I be part of this project?

The most important thing you can do is pray.  Pray for wisdom in decision making, for the safety of the workers and those involved, and for the smooth completion of this project.  If you would like to make a recurring or one-time donation to the Next Fund, simply follow the link below.
