Kevin Ledbetter

Orchestra & Choir Director

Kevin Ledbetter has been working at Neighborhood for 2 years (since August 2005). Kevin currently serves as the Orchestra and Choir Director, in the Worship and Arts Department.

Tell us about yourself:

I was born and raised in the Bay Area. I am married to Patsy and we have 4 great children. Music has been a major part of my life since 4th grade where I first played the sax. I was a music major at Cal State Hayward, concentrating on woodwind instruments and conducting. It was in college that I finally understood about Jesus, and then turned my life over to him. It is fantastic to live for Him.

What do you do as Orchestra and Choir Director?

I get to work with the artistic staff on the church on all of our large outreach productions. We have about 5 of them a year ranging from Christmas to a Summer Broadway Musical. During the week I work with the talented people God has brought to the church preparing them for upcoming events. Our choir and orchestra are heavily used at Christmas and Easter as well as several times each month on Sunday mornings.

What is the best part of your job?

I just love getting to know new people who have a desire to use or even develope their talent. Our outreaches at the church are always excellent, and it is a blessing to see them come together as God leads us. Many lives are touched in these special outreach ministries and I am grateful to be a part of the team that presents Jesus to our community. Call me if you want to be a part of that team!!!

What do you think you would be doing right now if God had not called you to be in ministry?

I would either be teaching music, and or playing professionally for musicals on my woodwind instruments.

What do you order at Starbucks?

Well actually at this point it's Peets.... gotta take a stand for truth sometime.

What do you collect?

Guitars and amps.... just ask my wife :-)

If you could be doing anything right now, what would it be?

I'm doing it now as I fill out this form :-)
Actually any place God is using me is a good place.

What is your favorite movie quote?

From "What About Bob".... I sailed on my first try... I just let the boat do all the work, that's my secret.

If you had a million dollars to spend today, what would you buy?

A new car, a nice supply of Jenny Craig stuff, maybe some hair growth formula (just kidding) and pay off my house. Of course a few more guitars and amps would be nice.

If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?

That people would see how much better things would be if they allow Jesus to sit on the thone of their heart.

What talent do you wish you had?

Better organized, and neater.

What food do you absolutely love? What food do you hate?

I love pizza, mexican food, Indian food... and just plain food. Lets be honest, have you seen my waistline recently? As far as foods to avoid, let's go with raw fish and squid.

What do you hope to accomplish in your life?

To use my life to bless my family and God's people, making sure they know they are loved, and to use my talent in a way that encourages others to take a look and consider trusting in Jesus as their Lord.
