Single Parents Ministry
a care ministry of Neighborhood Church
As a care ministry of Neighborhood Church our purpose is to provide encouragement and support to single parents who are seeking a place to connect, relate and belong in a safe and nurturing environment, while promoting personal, emotional, and spiritual growth & maturity in Christ.
There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven (Eccl. 3) - In our season of single parenting and in our efforts to balance the extremes of life, we have specific needs and we should not go it alone.
We need our "fill" and this can be found in community and in fellowship with those who understand the joys, the pains, the challenges, the struggles and the victories of single parenting.
We need God's help and others in relationship… healthy, Christ-centered relationships. There is hope, help, healing in community… not alone, not in isolation and not withdrawn, but from the outside.
With the use of biblical tools and resources, our heart and our passion is to challenge single parents to deeper levels of faith, hope and trust in Christ and to challenge them in their parenting, with the goal of becoming the model of godly leadership in their home AND able to build a strong foundation of faith in the hearts of their children.
This will empower, enable, and equip us to meet the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of our children. They need this from us to feel loved, secure, and a sense of belonging in an uncertain world... no matter what their age or stage.
So, if the son has set you free, you will be free indeed (John 8:36) - Many single parents do not experience peace, joy or freedom in Christ due to past unhealed pain and unforgiveness rooted in their heart. By accepting Jesus Christ' gift of grace, by virtue of HIS sacrifice for us, and by embracing our past and the pains of our past have been nailed to the cross... we can experience freedom. Christ dwells within us and will help us through the process of healing and forgiveness by the power-filled presence of the Holy Spirit.
It is our firm belief that the whole, healed and healthy single parent family can live intentional, purposeful, effective, and victorious lives in Christ!
So come, get wisdom, get encouraged, and get strengthened...
"By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge it's rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures" -Proverbs 24:3
