Our purpose at CrossStreets is…
"Walking in love with people in need as they discover Life Transformation Through Following Christ"
"Walking in love" is a continuing relationship process ...
that begins with meeting people where they are
that grows as the Good News is shared
that flourishes when people become fully devoted followers of Jesus
"People in Need" are ...
those who feel outside of the love of God
those who have lost their hope for the future
those who are in a state of spiritual, physical or emotional brokenness
Our ministry is motivated by our love of Jesus and our desire to serve others as illustrated in James 2:14-17:
"What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead."
CrossStreets will give you the opportunity to meet, serve and share Christ's love with people in our community who are outside the perimeter of the church. The people we love come from many different places. Some are young families who are trying to raise their children with very limited resources. Others may be struggling to rebuild their lives after the consequences of drugs, alcohol or incarceration. Still others may be living on the streets or only have housing sporadically.
Regardless of the circumstances that brings us into contact with an individual, it is our privilege to love and serve them as if they were Jesus. It's a very powerful ministry that allows you to see God at work through your simple acts of service.
We bring food, clothing and friendship. Like Jesus, our goal is to meet the physical needs, which opens the door to meet the spiritual needs. We share our lives, our faith, build friendships, pray, and love and encourage them to take the step of faith into a relationship with Jesus Christ. As we serve, the open hearts and joy expressed is a blessing you will never forget.
