Care: Anger Education

When: Tuesday, Evening

Anger Education A new Care Ministry beginning soon Tuesdays | 6:00pm - 7:15pm The Bible has much to say about anger. It gives examples of both righteous and unrighteous anger. For example, the book of Exodus portrays the Lords' anger burning against a stiff-necked people (Ex 32:9-10). This anger led to their destruction. The Lord's anger is always righteous. But is ours? How can one know the difference between demonstrating appropriate anger as opposed to anger that is inappropriate and destructive? For many of us, our anger stems from responding inappropriately to situations and internal conflict. This kind of anger is sinful and destructive. But how can we know how to possess the kind of anger that isn't sinful or personally destructive? What tools do we need to overcome the kind of anger that gets us in trouble and instead, bring glory to God? The goal of this course is to equip anyone looking for the proper biblical principles to ensure their anger doesn't lead them to sin. This education is not only for those who can identify with anger but also for those that are looking for ways to navigate through encounters with unjustifiably angry people. Anger Management Institute Workbooks ($25) available in class. No childcare. Questions? Email Leader James Tucker AngerEd@3crosses.org)

Care: K9's For Care

K-9s For Care is a ministry which brings animals and people together to provide friendship and warmth to those who are in difficult situations, living alone, or who are in a hospital or nursing home.

Why bring animals on this kind of visit?

These gentle animals have a very special way of demonstrating God's unconditional love by providing a beautiful connection with hurting and lonely people. Children in hospitals or the elderly living alone "light up" when they are able to interact with an animal. God has given to animals the ability to provide comfort, humor and unconditional love. They help us form friendships where we are able to share faith and God's love with others.

If you've considered joining our team but weren't sure you and your dog were a good fit, please contact us we would love to speak with you.

Care: Pathway to Reconciliation

When: Thursday, Afternoon

Have you experienced the trauma of child abuse and feel haunted by the memories and weighed down with anger towards your abuser? Let's learn what the bible says about unleashing the power of forgiveness to restore our souls and clear our minds. Pathway to Reconciliation  Start Date:  February 6, 2020 1st & 3rd Thursdays each Month 4:00PM - 6:00PM  |  Room D3(C) in Adult Bldg Unleash the Healing Power of Forgiveness in "Forgiveness: Breaking the Power of the Past" by Kay Arthur, David & BJ Lawson As imperfect people living in an imperfect world, we eventually confront in nearly every relationship the need to extend or receive forgiveness. But when the wounds run deep, forgiveness doesn't come easy. This eye-opening study deals with the difficult questions of forgiveness, including How can I forgive when the pain is so great? Does forgiving mean I have to forget the past? and What if I choose not to forgive? As you dig into what the Bible says on this vital topic, you'll encounter the depths of God's own mercy and discover how choosing forgiveness can free you from a painful past and propel you toward being all that God intends you to be. If you have any questions, feel free to email the ministry leader, Kelly Wilson, at pathway@3crosses.org

Care: Blended Families

When: Wednesday, Evening

Statistics report that divorce rates in Blended Families are between 60-80%. We understand that Blended Families often experience challenges. The sheer number of influences in the lives of each Blended Family member indicates that there are bound to be conflicts.

The Blended Families Ministry was designed to provide useful tools, support, and ultimately point people to THE ONE (Jesus Christ) who has all the answers.

Our hope is that the families we serve will not only SURVIVE, but THRIVE!

It has been said that "Blended Families don't have a family tree - they have a family forest!!"

Each person in the Blended Family is uniquely created AND there are many multifaceted relationships involved...step-parents, step-children, step-siblings, half-siblings, step-grandparents-aunts-uncles-cousins, biological parents, adoptive parents, foster parents, the list goes on. It's easy to see how life in a blended family can, at times, become complicated.

Since each person and each family is unique, the Blended Family Ministry at 3Crosses believes there are limited "cookie-cutter" answers for how to blend your family. However, in learning to listen to and follow Jesus through the challenges we face together we are confident that the Lord will be faithful to transform our lives, the lives of our children, and the lives of others around us.

We firmly believe Jesus at his promise when he said: "But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." -John 14:26-27

Join us in room D-1 on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month from 7:00pm-8:30pm.

Free childcare is provided in Room C2. To reserve childcare please email diana@3crosses.org with their names and ages and the date/time/group name one week before the event.

Care: Journey

When: Monday, Evening

Journey

Journey will resume meeting on Monday, January 13th, 2020 from 7:00pm - 8:30pm in Room D3(B).

God wants us to choose Life in Him.  Journey exists to provide a faith-based class and support setting where one can find God and seek His help on the journey to healing and recovery.

Journey is a Christian 12-Step recovery course and support group for adults needing recovery or support while overcoming a variety of addictions and character flaws.

We use the Alcoholics Anonymous 12 Steps as an introduction to the Biblical Scriptures upon which the 12 Steps were based. Our co-ed program is not substance centric.  It is based on a premise that all are recovering from the effects of the fall of Adam and Eve.

We meet on Monday nights from 7:00pm - 8:30pm in Room D3(B) upstairs in the Adult Building.  We welcome the neighboring communities as well as 3Crosses members to come and join us.

For more information please contact Jim Serna by email at journey@3crosses.org

Care: More Than Conquerors

When: Wednesday, Evening

More Than Conquerors

"He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor."  Luke 4:18

Do you desire to regain sexual integrity and experience deep healing? At 3Crosses we believe that Jesus Christ came to bind up the broken hearted and set the captives free. We believe He has called us to fight for the freedom of men trapped in the shackles and chains of sexual bondage and for the spouses suffering in the wake of those so trapped.

While stopping the destructive behavior is essential, we believe that God's greater desire is to bring deep healing to the wounds that led us to act out in the first place so that deep and intimate relationships can grow with Him and with others.

There's hope and freedom from inappropriate sexual behavior. Join a diverse group of men who are facing this challenge with the Lord head on... and are winning!

For more information please contact Jim Serna by email at mtc@3crosses.org

Care: Parent Project

Parent Project

Empowering Parents and Transforming Kids..

Parent Project classes are specifically intended to empower
Christian parents with faith-based parent principles and skills to raise respectful and responsible children.

In an interactive, support group setting, parents learn
and practice specific prevention and intervention strategies,
particularly for strong-willed, oppositional, defiant and destructive juvenile behaviors.

While the curriculum is primarily directed to parents with existing challenging behaviors of their pre-teen and teen-aged children,
the content is basic and fundamental for parents who wish to develop parenting skills to avoid potential future challenges with their children.

DON'T WAIT FOR BEHAVIORAL PROBLEMS TO DEVELOP
WITH YOUR CHILDREN.

This class will prepare you to be alert, proactive and to
hopefully avoid the future pain and cost of reversing unwanted,
learned behaviors of children.

Registration and cost for the Parent Project is
$100 for a single parent and $150 for a couple.
Curious parents are invited to attend the first session as an observer; however, registration and payment must be made by the start of the second session.

When: Saturday, Morning

COMING FEBRUARY 2020

Made to Crave

This group is for people who are ready to give their food struggles an expiration date. We'll help you reach your healthy goals and grow closer to God through the process.

The Daniel Plan is far more than a diet plan. It is an appetizing approach to achieving a healthy lifestyle by optimizing the five key essentials of faith, food, fitness, focus, and friends.

Unlike the thousands of other books on the market, this book is not about a new diet, guilt-driven gym sessions, or shame-driven fasts. Your path to holistic health begins here where we guide you to incorporate healthy choices into your current lifestyle.

The concepts in this book will encourage you to deepen your relationship with God and develop a community of supportive friends who will encourage you to make smart food and fitness choices each and every day.

This results in gradual changes that transform your life as they help you: Conquer your worst cravings. Find healthy replacement foods for the foods you love. Discover exercise you enjoy. Boost your energy and kick-start your metabolism. Lose weight. Think more clearly. Explore biblical principles for health and ultimately create an all-around healthy lifestyle

Learn how to tap into the desires God gave you to consume food without letting food consume you.

Community: Women (Solace)

When: Tuesday, Evening

COMING FEBRUARY 2020

My hope is for this home community to fill a need that often goes unspoken. There is rarely a space for women to talk about sex in church. I want to create an environment where women can come and be vulnerable and begin to process anything on their heart relating to shame and sexuality. Many women spend years trying to forgive themselves and hold onto regret when they have already been forgiven by Jesus.

The overall goal: to create a community where a select group of women can openly talk about sexuality, can feel safe being vulnerable, can set aside the worry of perfection, judgment, and performance. To respond to one another's needs. To love like Jesus. To guard and comfort. To process shame. To feel camaraderie in shared histories. To respond to calls to surrender. To prepare hearts. To repent. To understand what a shameless life lived for Jesus looks like for you personally.

When: Tuesday Evening 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Where: At the Church in room D2
Study Topic: Select Sermons (Syllabus available upon request)
